Who we are

Awaye (awaye.app) is the controller of the data described here. Contact: hello@relocateme.site.

What we collect

• Usage events. We record events such as a search starting, a city page being opened, a save or share click, against a random session id stored in your browser ("awaye.session.v1"). That id contains no personal data. If you are signed in, the event is also linked to your account. Once per browser session we record the referring site's hostname, a coarse channel (search, social, AI assistant, direct) and the page you landed on.
• When a link you followed carries utm_source/utm_medium/utm_campaign tags we store those three values and the referring site's hostname against the random session id, in our own database only, to learn which posts bring visitors; no third-party analytics or advertising pixels.
• City page views. A count of views per city, with the session id.
• Result feedback. The rating you give a match, with the search and session id or account.
• Searches. The answers you give in the quiz (budget, trip length, passport, preferences and any free text you write), the resulting matches, and the time. Stored whether or not you are signed in; linked to your account if you are signed in.
• Account. If you create one: your email address and sign-in data, via email and password or Google sign-in.
• Saved spots and city watches. The cities you save or watch, your notes, and your digest settings.
• Public profiles and testimonials. Only what you choose to publish: handle, display name, bio, avatar, the matches you share, and testimonials you consent to publish. Votes on testimonials are recorded against your account or session id to prevent duplicates.
• Errors. When a page fails on our server, we log the error with technical context (request path and recent in-app steps). Browser crash details are printed only to your own browser's console and are not sent to us.

Emails

If you opt in, we send a weekly digest for saved spots, digests for cities you watch, and a follow-up asking how a planned trip went. Every email carries an unsubscribe link. Sign-in emails are sent when you use them.

Who else receives data

• Backend hosting (Lovable Cloud, built on Supabase) stores the data above. Hosting region: [owner to confirm].
• AI model providers, via the Lovable AI gateway (Google Gemini models), receive your quiz answers and free text to rank cities and write explanations. Voyage AI receives your free text to compute similarity with cities. Free text is scrubbed before it is sent: email addresses, URLs and phone-like number sequences are replaced with "[redacted]" tokens.
• Google Maps loads in your browser when you open a map or fly-through; Google receives your IP address and the city being shown. Fonts load from Google Fonts.
• Email delivery through Lovable's email service receives your address and the email content.
• Error monitoring (Sentry), when configured, receives server error reports.
• City data and images come from public sources (e.g. Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons, Open-Meteo). They receive no data about you.

Cookies and browser storage

We set no advertising or third-party analytics cookies. Signing in stores a session in your browser. We use localStorage for the session id, your in-progress quiz answers, shortlist, couples-mode answers, display preferences, first-touch campaign tags ("awaye.ft.v1"), and an internal-traffic flag ("awaye.internal"). Clearing your browser storage removes them.

Legal basis

Contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) for running searches, accounts, saved spots and emails you ask for; consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) for public profiles, testimonials and digests; legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) for usage events, attribution and error logs used to keep the service working and improve it.

Retention

We have no automatic deletion schedule. Data is kept until you delete it or your account.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export, restrict or delete your data, object to processing, and withdraw consent. You can remove saved spots yourself while signed in; for anything else, an export or full account deletion, write to hello@relocateme.site. You may also complain to your data protection authority.

Children

Awaye is not intended for anyone under 16.
